In the spotlight... David Cobbold
In the latest of our In the Spotlight... series we catch up with our Senior IT Engineer, David Cobbold.

'I’ve been working at TBM since November 2017, beginning as an IT apprentice and making a career change from the world of mechanical engineering. I sought a job that gave me both freedom and a challenge, and I’ve always been good with tech, so an IT apprenticeship seemed to be the best route for me.
'My role is to support the ongoing IT Support requests from our customers, as well as to configure outgoing photocopier configurations to the customer's needs. I also onboard new customers and plan and implement new solutions for customers. I’ve recently qualified as a photocopier engineer, so I can also work on the odd photocopier or two when needed.
'My days tend to be split 50/50: 50% planned and 50% reactive. I visit customers, work remotely on customer machines, and sometimes fix physical hardware in the workshop – it’s a great level of variety!
'In my free time, I volunteer with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, where I manage the radio communication training for Norfolk and Suffolk. I also enjoy hobby electronics, cars, shooting (both clay & target), hiking and spending time with my wonderful partner in crime – Emily.'
